My Husband Disliked That Our Biker Neighbor Started Walking Our Little Daughter Home from School – Then Her Teacher Called Me and Said, ‘It’s About the Man Who Picks Her Up’

**Part 3**

The next day, Ryan went to the school.
He told the principal that Travis had done nothing wrong and admitted he’d caused the confusion by changing the plan without telling me.
He apologized to Melissa, then went alone to Travis’s house. When he returned, he told me he’d apologized there too without blaming anyone else.

Travis didn’t resume pickup immediately.
He said Emma needed a few days without adults turning the school gate into a battlefield.

For the next week, Ryan and I rearranged our schedules.
On Friday, he left work early and picked Emma up himself. When they came home, she talked nonstop about their walk.
Ryan looked at me over her head, shame still visible on his face, but relief was there too.

A few weeks later, we added Travis back to the pickup list.
There had never really been a competition except the one Ryan had created in his own mind.

Things between Ryan and me are still complicated.
Trust doesn’t repair itself just because someone finally admits the truth. But now he’s listening to Emma instead of questioning her until she gives him the answer he expects.
